TRAVELS | San Diego - Balboa Park

A few weeks back I got a real bad case of homesicknessitis, & I mean baaad. I was practically crying while writing the email to my dad asking him if I could come down for a visit over Memorial Day weekend.
A few weeks later & here I am; hanging out walking around & exploring San Diego. I love it here. My dad always makes sure that he finds something new for us to do whenever we come to visit.
I flew out Friday night (after much flight delays & flight changes). On our agenda for Saturday: get my hair cut, eat at this restaurant called The Linkery - I had a chicken sausage taco - then we drove down to Balboa Park & walked around.
They have all these cute little cottages, each one is devoted to a different country. They weren't open so we couldn't go inside & look around but the outsides were really cute.
The giant stack of pizza boxes outside the Italy house was just too good.
You probably can't see it but "Dare to Dream" is carved in the middle of the screen.
The detail in these buildings is breathtaking.

Next we went into the Botanical Garden.
Found Darth Vader & a Storm Trooper out for a stroll. Darth Vader even took a stress test.
One of our last stops was to this amazing dessert place called Extraordinary Desserts. I ordered a blackberry lemonade & dulce de leche creme brûlée. SO yummy you guys!

After that we just went home for a couple hours & then to see Fast 6 & then straight back home.

It was a long but very fun day. Stay tuned for my Memorial Day weekend post part 2 later this week!
