Captivating

A love poem from God, to you;
I am currently reading the book Captivating by Stasi & John Eldridge. This is my second time reading it & I am still getting so much out of it. This poem is from the chapter Romance. In this chapter, the authors talk about how desperately Christ wishes to romance you.

Our relationships with Him go so much deeper than simply "obeying Him", "fearing Him", & "worshipping Him". We should look at Him in the same way that we look at our lovers. My favorite comparison that they give in the book is to when Aragorn declares his love to Arwen in the moonlight in Lord of the Rings. THAT is the kind of love that the God of the universe longs to have with each & every one of us.

"I have loved you with an everlasting love." -Jeremiah 31:3

Twinkling stars on a dark clear night, gentle breezes on top of mountain peaks, blooming flowers in spring, moonlit midnight strolls - those are all God's version of flowers, chocolates, & romantic candlelit dinners. He scripts those things specifically for you & me each & every day.

"He knows what takes your breath away, knows what makes your heart beat faster."

WOW. How amazing is that?! But this line really hit me, like a semi truck kind of hit. You've probably heard the old saying that there is a place in your heart that only God can fill, but did you know...

"...there is also in God's heart a place that you alone can fill."

Just let that sink for a second. Reread it if you have to.
I honestly can't even fathom that, & have been thinking & praying over that one line all day now. I hope you will do the same, because He loves you in a way that no father, mother, sister, brother, grandma, grandpa, best friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, or wife ever could.

Thank you, Lord, for romancing me, pursuing me, & loving me without boarders.

Photography Tips

Wow it has been a looong time since I posted anything on here. Time has just been going by way too fast. I can't believe it's already July!

Anywho, coming up pretty soon I will be doing my first ever family photo shoot, & let me tell you, I am sooooo nervous! Ever since I got my DSLR camera a couple of years ago, I have been falling more & more in love with photography, but I have never done an actual photo shoot - it's just been of nature & come candid & random little family shots - but nothing this official!

That being said, I have been scouring Pinterest for tips & tricks on how to use my camera to the best of it's ability in hopes of giving this beautiful family the best possible photos that I can for them. I thought that I could share some of those resources with you as well as some cute family photo inspirations, in case any of you are wanting to better your photography skills.

SOURCE - this one is actually an iPhone cover that you can buy which is pretty cool.
SOURCE - love the brick wall behind them & that they are all smiling & laughing.
SOURCE - totally in love with this concept - so classic & sweet.
SOURCE - love the lighting & that they are doing something as simple as having a family picnic.
SOURCE - so simple but something that I think would be sweet to look back on years later when the kids are grown.
SOURCE - doing what the kids love to do - making them comfortable & relaxed.
SOURCE - I like this bird's eye view a lot.

Alright well there you go. I hope that if you like photography then this was helpful to you. Also, if you are a photographer &/or have done family photo shoots before & you have any tips for me then I would LOVE to hear from you - you can leave me a comment or send me an email (found in my contact tab).

Have a great rest of the weekend!
